A wide variety of radiation-producing sources are used on campus. This safety course is designed for faculty, staff, students, and volunteers working with X-ray and other radiation-producing devices at USC. The course broadly covers X-ray production and its hazards, USC policies, emergency responses, monitoring, and safety precautions that can minimize exposure and risks. Personnel working with X-ray-producing devices (electron microscopes, diffraction units, CT, fluoroscopy, irradiator, DEXA, faxitron, cabinet and medical X-ray systems, etc.) must complete the course prior to operating a radiation-producing device at USC.
